Our client is a well-established private firm in Ottawa, seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance team. You will report to the Controller and support essential functions like month-end closes and audits. The ideal candidate will enjoy analyzing financial data and identifying opportunities for improvement while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger activities
• Validate accounting entries for accurate financial reporting
• Support variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting activities
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting principles
• Participate in audits and document preparation for review
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• CPA designation is preferred but not mandatory
• 3-5 years of accounting experience in a multi-entity setup
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with internal controls
