About the Opportunity
This opportunity is for experienced Senior Software Engineers interested in contributing to advanced AI research and evaluation projects. The role focuses on evaluating AI-generated software solutions, assessing code quality, and helping improve the capabilities of next-generation coding models.
This is not a software development role. Instead, you'll apply your engineering expertise to review AI-generated code, analyze technical decisions, and provide structured feedback that improves AI performance.
Responsibilities
• Review AI-generated code for correctness, quality, maintainability, and software engineering best practices.
• Analyze open-source codebases, technical discussions, and software architecture.
• Evaluate code readability, scalability, reliability, and design decisions.
• Provide structured technical evaluations with clear engineering reasoning.
• Collaborate with fellow software engineers to ensure consistent, high-quality evaluations.
• Apply software engineering expertise to improve the reasoning and capabilities of advanced AI coding models.
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent open-source experience).
• Strong expertise in at least one of the following:
• JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js, React, modern web development)
• Go (Golang) (Backend services, distributed systems, REST/gRPC APIs)
• Python (Backend development, DevOps, automation, testing frameworks)
• Experience working with large-scale production codebases.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, debugging, code quality, and engineering best practices.
• Experience reviewing code for readability, maintainability, and performance.
• Strong knowledge of Git, GitHub workflows, pull requests, branching strategies, and code reviews.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
• Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar codebases and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience contributing to open-source projects.
• Familiarity with cloud-native development, Kubernetes, or distributed systems.
• Experience navigating GitHub repositories and open-source collaboration workflows.
• Familiarity with SWE-Bench or SWE-Bench Pro.
• Experience mentoring engineers or conducting technical code reviews.
Compensation
