About this role
Company-Wide Performance & Market Intelligence
Montreal, QC (Head Office) | In-Office 4 Days/Week
About Artika
Artika is a Montreal-based decorative lighting, ceiling fan, and home solutions brand — and a 2026 Canada’s Best Managed Company, recognized by Deloitte and Report on Business magazine for leadership, innovation, and strong business management.
About the Role
We’re looking for someone who is obsessed with data — someone who doesn’t just read reports, but digs into the numbers until they find the story, the risk, or the opportunity hiding inside them.
This role owns data and market analytics across the entire business. You’ll work with market data, POS and sell-through reporting, shopper insights, retail media, advertising platforms, and financial/trade spend data — connecting all of it into a clear, actionable picture for leadership. Each month, you’ll deliver an executive summary of company-wide performance, then drill down by channel with key insights and recommended actions.
Beyond reporting, you’ll serve as a critical bridge between sales and finance — helping protect margin while scaling growth. You’ll work closely with business planners to build promotional forecasts, track the financial impact of ad spend, influencer programs, and content creation, and surface global category trends that feed our product and category management teams.
You’ll partner cross-functionally with marketing, sales, finance, and product, and you’ll present directly to our leadership executive team. The questions you’ll help answer are the ones that matter most: Where are we winning and losing? Where should we invest next? What’s driving a change in performance, and what should we do about it?
Why This Role Matters
Artika is at an exciting inflection point. We have the data, the channels, and the ambition — and now we need a sharp analytical mind to connect the dots, challenge assumptions, and help leadership make better decisions, faster. This is a high-visibility role where your work directly shapes strategy across the company. If you’re looking for a place where your analysis drives real action — not just another slide deck — this is it.
What You’ll Do
• Monthly Executive Reporting: Build and deliver a monthly executive summary of company-wide performance, followed by channel-level deep dives with conclusions, key insights, and specific recommended actions.
• Market & POS Analytics: Aggregate and analyze market data, POS/sell-through, and shopper insights across all retail partners to identify trends, competitive shifts, and category opportunities.
• Advertising & Financial Analysis: Track advertising spend (retail media, paid social, search), influencer and content creation investment, and promotional/trade spend — then create correlations and assumptions based on traffic and conversion impact.
• Margin Protection & Growth Planning: Act as the analytical bridge between sales and finance — monitoring margins, flagging risks, and providing the data needed to protect profitability while scaling growth.
• Promotional Planning & Forecasting: Work closely with business planners to build promotional period forecasts around key dates and campaign windows, helping the team plan inventory, pricing, and spend with confidence.
• KPI Development: Develop and maintain company-wide KPIs, including customer lifetime value (LTV), new customer acquisition, retention, and channel-level profitability.
• Global Market Intelligence: Surface global category and market trends and feed actionable intelligence to category managers, product teams, and leadership to inform assortment and go-to-market decisions.
• Root Cause Analysis: Investigate anomalies — sudden sales drops, margin erosion, inventory aging, accrual variances — and diagnose root causes with data.
• Executive Communication: Present findings clearly and confidently to the leadership executive team, senior stakeholders, and cross-functional partners.
What We’re Looking For
• Several years of experience in a data, market, or business analyst role — ideally spanning e-commerce, traditional/offline retail, or CPG environments.
• Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables); SQL or other querying experience is a plus.
• Experience working with market data, POS reporting, and/or shopper insights platforms (e.g., Circana, Nielsen, retailer portals).
• Exposure to FP&A, margin analysis, or working at the intersection of sales and finance is a strong asset.
• Experience building or working with KPI frameworks, LTV models, or customer acquisition/retention metrics.
• Comfort working across disparate, imperfect data sources (retail POS, marketplace reports, ad platforms, trade fund/accrual tracking) and reconciling them into one coherent narrative.
• Ability to track and correlate advertising, promotional, and content spend against traffic and revenue outcomes.
• A track record of going beyond “here’s the data” to “here’s what we should do about it.”
• Strong presentation and communication skills — able to build executive-level summaries and present confidently to leadership.
• Bilingual (English/French) is an asset given our Quebec base and Canadian market.
• A self-starter who thrives on ownership, manages multiple priorities, and is genuinely energized by digging into data until the answer is clear.
What We Offer
• A high-impact, high-visibility role where your analysis directly shapes business strategy — with a seat at the leadership table.
• The opportunity to work across every major sales channel — DTC, marketplace, and retail — and see the full picture, at a global scale.
• A collaborative, entrepreneurial environment inside a nationally recognized, Best Managed company.
• Room to grow: as Artika’s data capabilities expand, so does the scope and influence of this role.
• Comprehensive health and dental insurance.
• RRSP matching program and performance bonus tied to company objectives.
• On-site gym and barista — your morning coffee and midday workout are on us.
• Paid fresh food cafeteria — because good decisions start with a good lunch.
