Renewable/Power Operations Electrical Engineer

Title: Electrical Engineer III (Renewable/Power Operations) Location Preference: North York, ON (Calgary and Edmonton are potentials but North York is absolutely preferred) Start: ASAP Duration: 3–6-month assignment to cover a short-term leave period Work Model: Hybrid - Mon, Tues, Thurs in office / Weds, Fri at home High Level Description :We are looking for a highly skilled individual that is experienced with the design and construction of renewable power plants. The candidate will work closely with companies project execution teams to vet designs submitted by contractors to ensure compliance with specifications, codes and standards. During the construction period, the successful candidate will provide technical support to the field teams and assist in acceptance of the commissioning documents provided for turnover. In addition to utilizing their own technical expertise in medium and high voltage electrical systems, the successful candidate will engage and manage internal and external technical subject matter experts, from all disciplines, participating during design, construction and commissioning. The successful candidate must possess superior technical acumen and strong management skills to balance daily priorities. In addition, the candidate must work well within teams with a willingness to share their knowledge with all stakeholders . Responsibilitie • s:Ensure the technical requirements of the business unit are incorporated into the design and commissioning of the renewable projects developed and constructed by the companies including attributes related to medium and high voltage system • s.Provide expertise on wind, solar and battery energy storage systems during the development of technical requirement documents, equipment specifications, facility design and turnover activitie • s.Review technical documents submitted by contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with specifications, codes and standard • s.Provide guidance for system configuration, equipment selection, and other project design features to ensure compliance with technical requirement document • s.Assist development team in the creation of equipment datasheets to be used during equipment procuremen • t.Participate in technical meetings with contractors and vendors during project development and construction to clarify technical requirement • s.Resolve technical issues relating to technical requirement documents, codes and standards during executio • n.Liaise with other internal stakeholders to incorporate all necessary stakeholder requirements into the technical requirement document • s.Ensure quality, commissioning and startup attributes including inspection, care and maintenance during storage, documentation, check-out, pre-commissioning, and pre-energization are defined in the technical requirement document • s.Provide technical support during the negotiation of EPC and supply contract • s.Support team members on technical subjects relating to the candidate’s technical expertis • e.Execute other assignments and responsibilities as require d. Qualificatio • ns:Engineer with 7+ years of relevant experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of renewable projects including wind, solar and battery energy storage systems.
