Our client, a Canadian Equipment Manufacturer, is looking to hire an experienced Professional Mechanical Engineer to join their team in the West GTA.
We are looking for a licensed professional engineer (PEng) with experience designing and developing products with an airflow component.
Responsibilities
• Meet with clients to discuss product modifications, confirm product specifications and expectations
• Collaborate with the R&D team to support new product development initiatives
• Contribute on continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing existing designs for better efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and productivity
• Perform structural analyses to ensure the mechanical integrity, reliability and safety of system components
• Conduct loss calculations to design efficient tubing and fitting layout systems
• Create general arrangement (GA) drawings, P&ID, GA exploded views, and detail assembly instructions to support manufacturing and assembly
• Select appropriate materials and components based on system specifications
• Ensure all designs meet relevant industry standards and certifications
• Take ownership of assigned projects, ensuring internal processes are followed and project timeline is managed effectively
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to evaluate and source system components
• Work closely with internal teams, including production and supply chain, to ensure smooth product development
• Support product testing, validation, and troubleshooting, ensuring compliance with performance standards and regulatory requirements
• Provide technical support to customers, as well as internal production and sales teams
Qualifications
• Licensed Professional Engineer (Peng) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design of products with an airflow component
• Responsibility for duct loss and CFM calculations
• Experience with blowers, HVAC systems, vacuums, air piping or related equipment and systems
• Experience with positive displacement pumps
• Proficiency in SolidWorks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Project management experience or training would be an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Please note, this is an in person position, with potential for hybrid ( 4 days / wk on site), once probationary period has been successfully completed.
