BackEnd Developer (API Engineering)

• 5+ years building and operating production REST APIs in Node.js & TypeScript • Hands-on AWS serverless experience — Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, SNS, SQS, Glue, ECS — built and run in production, not just in tutorials • Strong REST API design skills — resource modeling, HTTP semantics, versioning, idempotency, and OpenAPI/Swagger contract authoring • Daily proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools — GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar — using them to accelerate development while owning every line committed • Solid testing discipline — writes tests as part of development using Mocha/Chai/Sinon or Jest, targets 80%+ coverage across branches, functions, and lines • Product mindset — understands the business impact of the APIs they build, thinks about consumer experience, reliability, and value delivery — not just technical correctness • Familiar with security patterns in regulated environments — encrypted secrets, least-privilege IAM, input validation, private networking • Experience with AWS CDK or CloudFormation for infrastructure-as-code is a strong plus • Financial services domain background is a plus
