We are looking for a8-monthaMechanical Engineeringinternat our Strathcona Works facility in Alberta.
The focus for theinternshipwillbethescopingand planning of anumberofprojects.Theseprojectsincludecoordination ofcriticalplantdrawingupdates,improvementsto the plantdustcollectionsystems, and plantsafetyinitiatives onvehicle/pedestrianseparation.
The Strathcona Worksfacilityisasmallsitewithlessthan25employees. Itisagreatopportunitytogetexperienceworkingin an operating plant andinteractingwithalllevels(operations, maintenance, management,externalstakeholders, andexternalcontractors/suppliers).

RioTinto'sStrathcona Production Plantisa part of the Atlantic Operations of theAluminumproductgroup. Our Edmonton, Albertafacilityisfocusedonresultsand for 40yearswehave beenplayinga part in the globalaluminumindustry. Thisfacilityisresponsibleforturningbyproductfromoilrefineriesintokeyingredientsfor one ofourwidelyusedmetals. High-qualitygreenpetroleumcoke (GPC)ispurchasedfromourpartnersandturnedintoanode gradecalcinedcoke for use in thealuminumsmeltingprocess.
