The Crisis Centre of BC provides barrier-free emotional support, suicide prevention services, and community education throughout British Columbia. Since 1969, we have worked to ensure people have access to compassionate, confidential support while helping build suicide-safer communities through education, training, and outreach.

About the Role
Join our Community Learning & Engagement team and help support education and training events that strengthens communities across British Columbia.
The Assistant, Community Learning & Engagement supports the successful delivery of Community Learning & Engagement (CLE) programs, workshops, and logistical support by ensuring workshops are organized, accessible, and have the resources needed to be delivered effectively for community partners, participants, and facilitators. This role is responsible for the administrative aspect of workshop bookings, provides logistical support for training sessions, and assists with a range of departmental administrative functions. Through accurate coordination and responsive administrative support, this role contributes to positive participant experiences, effective program delivery, and the successful reach of CLE initiatives within the community.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, problem-solving, customer service, and supporting meaningful community programs.
What You'll Do
Event Administration
•
Responsible for the administrative coordination, planning, logistical support of CLE events to ensure effective and consistent program delivery.
•
Maintain accurate workshop records, registration information, and program documentation to support reporting, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
Event Delivery Support
•
Provide onsite administrative and logistical support for in-person CLE events to ensure training sessions are prepared, organized, and delivered effectively.
•
Organizes day-of events requirements, including participant registration, facilitator support, training materials, technology, and resolution of logistical issues.
•
Complete event close-out activities, including collection of materials, equipment coordination, and completion of required records.
Department Administration Support
•
Provide administrative support to the Community Learning & Engagement team to support departmental operations.
•
Maintain organized systems, records, documentation and supplies to support efficient team functioning.
•
Support financial administration, including but not limited to invoicing and expense reconciliation.
•
Prepare reports, presentations, meeting materials, and other administrative resources.
•
Support departmental projects and initiatives that align with organizational priorities.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who has:
Required Qualifications
•
Diploma or certificate in Office Administration, Business Administration, Event Management, or a related field.
•
Minimum one (1) year of related administrative experience.
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Asset Qualifications
•
Experience coordinating administrative processes, events, training sessions, workshops, or similar programs.
•
Experience working in the non-profit sector.
•
Experience coordinating educational programs, community events, or workshops.
•
Experience working in a healthcare, education, or community services environment.
Technical Skills
•
Knowledge of administrative processes and systems that support program or workshop delivery.
•
Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail).
•
Experience using CRM systems, project management platforms (e.g., Monday.com), online registration platforms, and virtual meeting software (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) is an asset.
•
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
•
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
•
Ability to effectively support both in-person and virtual event environments.

Position Details
This is a regular part-time position working 20 hours per week, primarily based onsite at our Vancouver office.
Occasional evening and weekend work is required to support workshops and community programming.
Due to the nature of our work, employees may occasionally be exposed to sensitive or emotionally complex subject matter. Professionalism, confidentiality, and respect are essential.
