Position summary
The Vice President, Human Resources (Americas) is the senior-most HR leader for the region, responsible for setting and executing the people strategy in alignment with global business objectives. This role leads all HR functions, including HR Business Partners, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and HRIS management systems; all focused on developing significant talent density.
This position is responsible for HR matters in Canada, the USA, Mexico, and LATAM, representing close to 2000 employees.
As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Vice President partners with executive stakeholders to shape organizational strategy, drive business performance, and build a high-performing, inclusive culture.
The role requires a visionary leader who can operate at enterprise scale, influence global decisions, and deliver measurable impact through people strategies, while also being comfortable at the operational level, leading a team of 20 HR professionals.
Key responsibilities
1. Strategic HR leadership
• Define and lead the Americas people strategy aligned with global priorities and business growth objectives
• Serve as a key advisor to the executive team on organizational performance, talent strategy, and workforce planning
• Drive alignment between regional and global HR strategies, ensuring consistency and scalability
• Contribute to enterprise-wide strategy and decision-making as a senior leader
2. Leadership of HR functions
Provide executive oversight and integration of:
• HR business partners: Ensure strategic partnership with business leaders to drive performance and organizational effectiveness
• Talent acquisition: Oversee workforce planning and talent strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent
• Learning & development: Establish long-term leadership and capability development strategies
• Benefits and total rewards: Design and govern competitive, equitable, and compliant rewards programs across the Americas
3. Organizational effectiveness and talent management
• Own succession planning and leadership pipeline development at the regional level
• Lead enterprise talent reviews and ensure strong bench strength across critical roles
• Drive performance management strategies that enable a high-performance culture
4. Change leadership and transformation
• Lead transformation initiatives, including organizational redesign, scaling, and integration
• Establish change management frameworks and ensure adoption across the organization
• Guide leaders through complex change with clarity, resilience, and alignment
5. Employee experience and culture
• Define and sustain a strong, values-driven culture aligned to business priorities
• Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and overall experience
• Ensure consistent and equitable employee practices across countries and functions
6. Compliance and governance
• Ensure full compliance with labor laws and regulatory requirements in all jurisdictions
• Partner with legal and global HR leadership to ensure governance
• Establish standardized HR policies and frameworks while balancing local requirements
Qualifications and experience
Required
• 12+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including senior executive roles
• Proven experience leading multiple HR functions across a large, complex organization
• Demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership and shape business strategy
• Experience managing HR across multiple countries in the Americas
• Deep understanding of workforce trends, employment law, and enterprise HR practices
Preferred
• Experience in a global, matrixed organization
• Track record of leading large-scale transformation or high-growth organizations
• Advanced degree (MBA, MA in HR, or related field)
