What is the opportunity: This position is expected to support a portfolio of projects through strong prioritization and stakeholder coordination. The project manager is responsible for leading cross-functional business and technology projects using Agile principles and practices. The role facilitates planning, prioritization, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and delivery of business value while supporting continuous improvement across Energy Safety Canada's project portfolio. In addition, the position contributes to the enhancement of the Energy Safety Canada Project Management System (EPMS), including standards, templates, governance processes, and project delivery practices. What will you do: • Lead project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure activities while ensuring deliverables, schedules, budgets, risks, and dependencies are actively managed and communicated to stakeholders. Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups. Partner with sponsors and stakeholders to prioritize work based on business value. Develop and maintain project dashboards, KPIs, and reporting metrics. Ensure project governance requirements and documentation standards are met. • Evaluate project scope to determine resourcing requirements, including staff, consultation of external vendors and/or contractors to ensure projects are successfully delivered within approved timelines and budgets. • Manage project scope, resources, budgets, risks, dependencies, and change requests to achieve project objectives and business outcomes. • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to assist with the successful execution of projects and stakeholder satisfaction. Coach project participants on Agile principles and continuous improvement practices. • Other duties as required. What you need to succeed: • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related technical field. • 5-10 years of project management experience, including experience delivering projects using Agile methodologies. • Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or SAFe certification are considered assets. • Experience leading business transformation, process improvement, or digital transformation initiatives. • Experience implementing or enhancing enterprise business systems. • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Power Platform, SharePoint, or business intelligence solutions. • Experience working with cross-functional business stakeholders in a non-profit, regulatory, energy, or training environment is considered an asset. • Project Management Certificate (PMP designation is preferred) • Familiarity with a variety of project management tools and software packages • Experience with managing project budgets. Supervisor experience is preferred. • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities. • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and multiple concurrent projects. • Demonstrated experience supporting organizational change and user adoption initiatives. • Excellent facilitation and meeting-management skills. • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language. • High level of accountability, initiative, and self-management • Hands-on experience with Planisware software is considered an asset.
