Our client is seeking a results-driven and strategic Catering Sales Director to spearhead their sales initiatives in Richmond, Virginia, US . This senior leadership role is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, cultivating client relationships, and driving revenue growth for the catering division. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales leadership within the hospitality or catering industry, exceptional negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the local market.
Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive sales plans and strategies to achieve and exceed annual revenue targets for the catering department. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including corporate events, weddings, private parties, and social gatherings. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, event planners, venue managers, and key stakeholders. Lead and mentor the catering sales team, providing guidance, training, and performance management to foster a high-achieving sales culture. Oversee the development of customized proposals and presentations tailored to client needs and event specifications. Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements, ensuring profitability while maintaining competitive market positioning. Collaborate closely with the culinary and operations teams to ensure seamless event execution and client satisfaction. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and refine sales strategies. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to enhance brand visibility and generate leads. Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses for senior management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field. Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive sales experience in the catering, hospitality, or event management industry, with at least 3-5 years in a sales leadership or director role. Proven ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies and achieve ambitious revenue goals. Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Strong understanding of the local Richmond, Virginia, US market and existing network of contacts is highly desirable. Proficiency in CRM software and sales management tools. Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Must possess a professional demeanor and the ability to represent the company at a high level.
