About this role
About the Role:
Aterio is looking for a Research Analyst to join our Data Center team, covering the global buildout of hyperscaler and cloud infrastructure. Aterio's data powers investment decisions for hedge funds, asset managers, and technology companies tracking the data center and digital infrastructure space, and this role sits at the center of that research.
You'll bring an equity-research mindset: tracking capacity buildouts, power availability, capex trends, and the strategic moves of the world's largest hyperscalers. This is a highly analytical, detail-oriented role for someone who wants deep exposure to the AI infrastructure buildout happening globally.
What You'll Do:
• Track and analyze data center capacity, power, and infrastructure buildouts across major hyperscalers and cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Meta, Oracle) globally
• Build and maintain financial and market models covering capex trends, capacity growth, and investment activity across the sector
• Monitor and synthesize earnings calls, regulatory filings, industry news, and public disclosures from hyperscalers and infrastructure companies
• Produce timely, well-sourced research notes and market intelligence for internal and client use
• Identify and track emerging trends in AI infrastructure, cloud networking, GPU demand, and power constraints shaping the sector
• Partner with the Data Center team to support institutional clients (hedge funds, asset managers) with data-driven answers to their investment questions
• Maintain and improve Aterio's proprietary datasets and dashboards related to data center inventory, capacity, and company profiles
• Contribute to ad hoc research projects and client deliverables as the team's coverage expands
What We're Looking For:
Must-haves:
• Equity research experience, or a comparable background in industry/investment research
• Working understanding of hyperscalers and major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Meta, Oracle) and their infrastructure ecosystems
• 1–4 years of relevant professional experience
• Bachelors in Economics, Finance, Industrial Engineering or related.
• Based in Vancouver.
Preferred:
• Direct experience covering data center, power, or digital infrastructure markets
• Familiarity with capacity/capex analysis frameworks used in technology or industrials equity research
• Comfort working with large datasets (Excel/Power BI or similar tools)
