Job Description:
Our client a leader in Liquid Pipeline operations within North America is looking for a Business Analyst with a focus on Liquid Field Operations, to join their Calgary, AB office.
The right candidate will utilize knowledge and experience to turn data into insights through metrics reporting, visualization mechanisms, business case development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Reporting to Manager of Field Operations Services, the Business Analyst will partner with the Operations, Corporate Services, and Engineering groups to increase system efficiency and effectiveness through analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Forecast, Budget, and Variance for LFO Cost Centers
• Update forecast tools as needed
• Update budget tools
• Provide monthly budget analysis report (presentations) for Sr leadership
• Track FTE Changes in LFO
• Build and maintain LFO Scorecard
• Facilitate Org changes with cost and accounting
• Track all capital tool and vehicle purchases and cost
• LFO Work type / labor analysis
• Identify/create efficiencies in LFO
Success Metrics:
• Budget
• 4&8 Forecast deliverables are on time
• Monthly budget reports provide clarity of spend
• Processes are understood and meet the end users needs
• Capital tool spends are current
• Vehicles spends are accurate
• Scorecard
• Provides a clear picture of the state of the Organization
• Accurate and viewed as the single source of truth
• Efficiencies
• Identify meaningful efficiencies that improve:
• Safety, Reliability, Regulatory compliance and spend profiles
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
• Equivalent combination of education and industry experience may be considered.
• Minimum 5+ years of Business Analysis, Operations Analysis, Financial Analysis, or Operational Excellence experience.
• Minimum 3+ years supporting field operations, maintenance, engineering, or operational groups within the Oil & Gas, Pipeline, Energy, Utilities, or Industrial sectors.
• Experience supporting budget development, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost tracking for operational departments.
• Experience developing KPI scorecards, dashboards, and executive-level reporting packages.
• Experience identifying and implementing process improvements that drive operational efficiencies and cost savings.
