Position Overview
Our client is a prominent, well-established public organization experiencing significant corporate growth and high transaction volumes. They are seeking a highly analytical and technical Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting & Reporting to join their corporate finance team.
Serving as a technical accounting subject matter expert, this individual contributor role will drive the accuracy, transparency, and timeliness of external financial reporting in strict compliance with IFRS and regulatory standards. This is a high-visibility position ideal for an ambitious CPA who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing complex reporting structures.
Key Responsibilities
• External Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation and detailed review of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, MD&A, intricate note disclosures, press releases, and regulatory filings.
• Technical Accounting & M&A Support: Act as the internal technical authority by researching complex IFRS pronouncements, reviewing corporate acquisition/disposition agreements, and authoring comprehensive technical accounting memos.
• Complex Transactions: Take ownership of intricate accounting entries related to M&A activities, complex consolidations, and execute quarterly and annual impairment testing.
• Compliance & Audit Liaison: Calculate and report on corporate covenant compliance. Serve as a primary point of contact for external and internal auditors, ensuring smooth documentation delivery and review processes.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with operational finance, asset management, and corporate teams to interpret financial results, provide clarity on complex transactions, and roll out new accounting policies.
• Process Optimization: Champion system enhancements, automation, and reporting best practices to continually optimize data validation and the corporate reporting cycle.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Designation: A CPA designation is strictly mandatory.
• Experience: 8+ years of robust experience in accounting, with a distinct focus within a public company corporate accounting environment.
• Technical Mastery: Deep, highly technical knowledge of IFRS, complex consolidation rules, and valuation principles. Proven success independently writing complex technical accounting memos is required.
• Systems & Data: Advanced Excel proficiency is required to manage, validate, and analyze massive datasets. Experience utilizing tier-one EPM or ERP systems (e.g., OneStream, Hyperion, Yardi, SAP) is highly preferred.
• Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial standards to executive leadership.
