About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Civil Engineering Manager to lead their public works projects division, operating entirely in a remote capacity. This executive-level role involves overseeing a team of engineers and project managers responsible for a diverse portfolio of municipal infrastructure, including transportation, water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a proven ability to manage complex projects from initiation through completion. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of civil engineers and project managers involved in public works projects. Oversee the planning, design, permitting, and construction phases of various infrastructure projects. Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery. Establish and maintain strong relationships with municipal clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Implement and enforce high standards for engineering design, quality control, and safety protocols. Review technical designs and proposals, providing expert guidance and approval. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture within a remote work environment. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting public works. Requirements Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution. Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with at least 5 years in a management or leadership role. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one US state is required; P.E. license in Oklahoma or willingness to obtain is a plus. Proven experience managing large-scale public works projects and municipal contracts. Demonstrated success in leading and motivating remote teams and fostering cross-functional collaboration. Exceptional strategic planning, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
