We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join a client team in Ottawa, Ontario on a short-term Contract assignment. This position is suited to an accounting specialist who can manage day-to-day financial activities with accuracy and efficiency. The successful candidate will support core accounting operations, contribute to timely payment and payroll processes, and work comfortably with established financial systems and reporting tools.Responsibilities:• Oversee daily accounting activities, ensuring financial records are organized, accurate, and up to date.• Process accounts payable transactions, verify invoice details, and coordinate timely payments to vendors.• Support payroll administration by preparing, reviewing, and reconciling payroll-related information.• Use QuickBooks Desktop and other accounting platforms to enter transactions, maintain records, and generate reports.• Assist with payment processing activities while following internal controls and established approval procedures.• Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies to help maintain accurate financial data.• Work with ERP and expense management systems, including tools such as Concur, to support financial operations.• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address accounting inquiries and keep financial processes running smoothly.
