About the position Kristian Electric Ltd. is a family-owned company founded in 1964, recognized for delivering high-quality service in industrial electrical work, overhead cranes, and welding equipment. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a skilled Journeyperson Electrician who takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a strong, close-knit team. As a Welder Service Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating, welding equipment for our customers both in the shop and, when required, in the field. Responsibilities • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance of welders and equipment. • Troubleshoot equipment to diagnose deficiencies and determine repairs required. • Repair or replacing defective parts. • Clean, lubricate, adjust, calibrate and maintain welders and equipment. • Utilize vendor resources, equipment manuals, and other resources to problem-solve and diagnose repairs. Requirements • Journeyperson Electrician Certificate. • Minimum 2 years’ experience with electronics and trouble shooting and repairing welding machines and equipment. • Experience repairing Miller, Lincoln, Hobart, ESAB, and Hypertherm products. • High School diploma or GED equivalent • Ability to work varied hours, overtime and on call if needed. • Must have valid driver’s license and a driver’s abstract, evidencing a clean driving record and a non-graduated driver’s license. Nice-to-haves • Ability to problem-solve, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues. • Reliable, organized, and detail oriented. • Exceptional customer service experience • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. • Ensure all diagnoses, repairs, and service work are completed accurately while maintaining compliance with applicable safety standards and regulations. • Dedication and willingness to fully participate in the Kristian Health & Safety Program. • Positive attitude towards learning, motivating, working on a team, and engaging with customers. • Ability to be accountable with minimal supervision. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Experience operating forklifts with valid forklift certification is an asset.
