About this role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to support the finance and accounting function on a temporary basis through the end of August. This role will oversee key accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, cash management, and process improvement activities. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a publicly listed company and be comfortable stepping into a fast-paced environment, quickly understanding existing processes, and contributing immediately. **Assignment length: 1 month, until the end of August** **Competitive hourly rate ranging from $70-85/HR** **Location: Calgary, Hybrid work mode** Responsibilities: • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll review, and month-end close. • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including variance analysis and management reporting packages. • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity management activities. • Coordinate the preparation of financial statements and consolidate financial information across multiple entities or jurisdictions, as applicable. • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, financial reporting requirements, and IFRS. • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banking partners, and other external stakeholders as required. • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, systems, controls, and reporting procedures. • Provide financial analysis and business support to senior leadership, including special projects and decision-making initiatives. Successful Candidate: • 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally including experience in a publicly listed company. • CPA designation preferred, with strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements. • Strong experience with month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. • Comfortable working independently, quickly assessing existing processes, and making an immediate impact in a temporary assignment. • A hands-on, collaborative, and solutions-oriented professional with strong communication and analytical skills.
