About the position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized HR Coordinator (6-Month Contract) to support day-to-day Human Resources operations across the employee lifecycle. This role will act as a key point of contact for HR administrative support, Workday transactions, onboarding and offboarding activities, recruitment coordination, policy administration, and HR projects. The successful candidate will work closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure HR processes are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with internal policies and practices.
Responsibilities
• Provide first-level HR support and guidance for routine employee and manager inquiries.
• Assist former employees and new hires with HR-related requests and documentation.
• Escalate complex employee relations, payroll, benefits, policy, or legal matters to the appropriate HR partners.
• Track HR requests, follow-ups, and action items to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain employee lifecycle documentation and records in accordance with internal requirements.
• Process and support Workday transactions, including employment changes, promotions, transfers, and associated documentation.
• Run and monitor Workday reports, including contingent worker end dates, pending approvals, and outstanding actions.
• Support employees with Workday-related questions and system navigation.
• Coordinate employment contracts, offer letters, hiring documentation, and contingent worker administration.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to ensure accurate and timely candidate and new hire processing.
• Coordinate onboarding activities, including system access, equipment requests, and new hire readiness.
• Support employee offboarding activities, including resignation and termination processes, documentation, and equipment returns.
• Provide administrative support for job documentation, Total Rewards initiatives, and organizational records.
• Assist with reviewing, updating, and maintaining HR policies, templates, and standard documentation.
• Organize and maintain HR shared folders, files, and document repositories.
• Support HR projects, process improvements, testing activities, data collection, and ongoing operational initiatives.
• Coordinate recurring HR activities and support regional HR processes to ensure compliance with local requirements.
Requirements
• Postsecondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Previous experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Administrator, People Operations, or similar HR support role.
• Experience working with HRIS systems, preferably Workday.
• Strong understanding of HR processes across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, recruitment support, and employee records management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively with employees, managers, HR teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience supporting HR reporting, audits, documentation management, and process improvement initiatives is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of Canadian employment practices and HR administration is preferred.
