About the position
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Finance Manager, Accounting & Reporting to join our team supporting the Technology and Lab group. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving financial integrity, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the finance function. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking professional who embraces technology, thrives in a collaborative environment, and leads with a solutions-first mindset. They will serve as a trusted partner to both the finance team and cross-functional peers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial operations. This position is a temporary position for 18-months with flexibility.
Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the full month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements and compliance with internal policies.
• Coordinate with accounting team members to meet close deadlines and resolve outstanding items proactively.
• Prepare, review, and deliver accurate and insightful financial reports to senior leadership and all stakeholders.
• Lead and support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial presentations and providing clear and actionable explanations to management.
• Design, implement, and monitor robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Champion the adoption and effective use of financial systems, tools, and automation to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement technology solutions that support finance operations.
• Support the professional development of team members through feedback, training, and stretch assignments.
• Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with peers across Finance, Operations, HR, IT, and other business units.
• Act as a solutions-oriented partner — approaching challenges with a focus on resolution, innovation, and constructive dialogue.
Requirements
• CPA - is required
• Minimum 5-years of progressive experience in finance or accounting – is required
• Minimum 2-years leading and managing a team
• Strong proficiency in financial systems, advanced Excel skills
• Solid understanding of IFRS, internal controls frameworks, and financial reporting standards.
• Demonstrated experience in process improvement and systems implementation.
• Approaches every challenge as an opportunity — identifies root causes and drives practical, effective resolutions.
• Excellent Communicator: Articulates ideas clearly and confidently in written and verbal formats; actively listens and adapts communication style to the audience.
• Detail-Oriented: Maintains a high standard of accuracy and thoroughness in all deliverables.
• For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
