About this role
We are a consumer-packaged goods company located in the heart of downtown Montreal that manufactures, develops, designs and markets consumer products under license for a major American national brand. We are looking for a passionate candidate to fill an Associate Product Manager role who will assist in all aspects of preparing for line reviews: pricing, product slides, sampling management and overall readiness. You will also play a key support role in the execution of all product initiatives and help ensure SEG Products delivers products that are innovative, competitive and deliver value to our customers. Supporting the product development and sourcing process from design to product launches, you understand and possess knowledge of product development cycles, the retail environment and working with overseas suppliers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintain and manage item database;
· Research and stay abreast of the latest trends
· Coordinate and follow-up communications with factories relating to samples; Manage sample inventory and requests;
· Prepare RFQs, send RFQs to vendors, review quote submissions for accuracy
· Organize data from multiple vendors into category submissions
· Coordinate with internal departments and suppliers to ensure projects are completed on time.
· Work with the Marketing Department to ensure that all product specifications, standards and certifications on packaging are accurate;
. Work with the Marketing Department in the development of merchandising tools, as well as the development and updates of brochures / catalogues and sell sheets;
· Provide product spec and product-related data to the overseas team
· Maintain and update supplier database
. Execute deliverables needed for line review and new product roadmap development
. Manage communication with overseas team and supplier base
. Organize pricing for customers
. Manage samples needed for customer line reviews
. Be familiar with the consumer product environment in the USA and Canada
. Create sales presentations
Qualifications
· Strong communication skills
· Able to plan and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
· Analytical, able to manipulate data and other sources of information
· Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, managing several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
· Ability to work well in a team setting
· Strong command of MS Office software
· 2 years of product/category management or relevant experience
· Import experience – an asset
· Accountable and drive to achieve goals
