Position Summary
SSi Artificial Lift is seeking a motivated Junior Mechanical Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our Calgary engineering team. This role is ideal for a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate looking to build practical experience in product design, manufacturing, testing, and research & development.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with the design, development, and improvement of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Create and maintain 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analyses, and design reviews.
• Support R&D activities, prototype development, and product testing.
• Work closely with the production team to assist with manufacturing, troubleshooting, QA/QC, and product validation.
• Prepare technical documentation, including manuals, specifications, reports, and presentations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar field.
• Registered as an E.I.T. with APEGA or eligible for registration.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Understanding of engineering fundamentals and FEA principles.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Hands-on mindset with a willingness to spend time in the production facility and test environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Assets
• Experience with hydraulics, fluid power systems, or oil and gas equipment.
• Familiarity with industrial controls, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, or electrical systems.
• Co-op, internship, SAE design teams, or other relevant engineering experience.
Compensation & Benefits
• Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
