Our client, a large and highly respected community-focused not-for-profit organization, is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Finance (Contract with a strong possibility to turn permanent). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance leader who enjoys partnering with executive leadership, leading high-performing teams, and contributing to an organization that makes a meaningful impact on children, families, caregivers, and underserved communities.
Reporting directly to the CEO and supported by the resources of a Fractional CFO, the Head of Finance will provide strategic financial leadership while remaining engaged in operational execution and team development.

Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic financial leadership and serve as a trusted business partner to the CEO and senior leadership team
• Oversee all aspects of the finance function, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, compliance, and internal controls
• Lead the preparation of financial statements, management reporting packages, and board reporting
• Manage and oversee budget across multiple funding streams and programs
• Evaluate the current finance structure and identify opportunities to enhance team effectiveness, reporting relationships, and operational efficiencies
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of 10-12 finance professionals
• Coordinate and manage annual external audits, funder audits, and regulatory reporting requirements
• Develop financial insights and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making
• Strengthen financial processes, controls, policies, and reporting capabilities across the organization
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, auditors, funders, and the Board of Directors
• Support organizational growth, change management initiatives, and long-term strategic planning
Qualifications:
• CPA designation required
• Minimum 7 years of progressive finance leadership experience with direct people management responsibilities
• Proven ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on and detail-oriented when required
• Strong business partnering experience supporting executive leadership and organizational decision-making
• Exceptional leadership, communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills
• Not-for-profit, charitable, community services, healthcare, or broader public sector experience is strongly preferred
