About the Role Our client, a well-established and expanding manufacturing company specializing in consumer goods, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Operations Manager for their facility in **Montreal, Quebec**. This critical role oversees all aspects of plant production, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and quality. You will lead a dedicated team of supervisors and production staff, driving continuous improvement initiatives and optimizing resource allocation. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in operational leadership within a complex manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong presence on the plant floor, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. The successful candidate will play a key part in achieving production targets and contributing to the company's overall growth. Key Responsibilities Direct and manage all day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant, including production, maintenance, and logistics. Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize plant efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Manage departmental budgets and P&L responsibilities for the plant operations. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of supervisors and production personnel. Oversee the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement programs. Collaborate with other departments, such as supply chain, sales, and engineering, to ensure smooth operations and meet customer demands. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed. Manage capital expenditure projects for plant upgrades and equipment enhancements. Foster a strong safety culture throughout the plant. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is an asset. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations management. Demonstrated experience in leading large teams within a unionized environment is preferred. Proven ability to drive operational excellence and implement lean manufacturing/Six Sigma methodologies. Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and P&L. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in manufacturing execution systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to manufacturing in **Montreal, Quebec**. Strong problem-solving and strategic planning capabilities.
