Job Title: SDET Engineer Location: Toronto, ON - 4 days a week on site (F2F Client interview) Job Type: Contract to Hire / Long-term contract Job description: • We are looking for a QA Engineer with strong expertise in API Testing, SQL Kafka Testing, and CI/CD GitHub Actions • Knowledge of Playwright with Pytest and GitHub Co-pilot is an added advantage Experience Level: 4-6 Years Primary Skills Must Have • SQL • Strong ability to write complex queries for data validation • Experience in database testing and backend validation • API Testing • Hands-on experience with REST API testing, Postman, Pytest, or similar tools • Good understanding of request, response validation, authentication, and status codes • Kafka Testing • Experience in testing event-driven architectures • Ability to validate Kafka producers, consumers, and message flows • GitHub Actions CI/CD • Strong experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines • Integration of automated test suites into CI/CD workflows • Knowledge of reporting, scheduling, and automated triggers Secondary Skills • Playwright with Pytest Python • Experience in UI automation using Playwright • Understanding of Pytest framework, fixtures, assertions, and parametrization • Ability to create and maintain automation frameworks • GitHub Co-pilot • Experience using AI-assisted coding tools • Ability to accelerate test creation and improve productivity Roles Responsibilities • Perform API database and event-driven testing on Kafka • Develop and maintain validation scripts for backend systems • Design and execute test cases for integration and system testing • Build and maintain CICD pipelines using GitHub Actions • Collaborate with QA development and DevOps teams • Identify defects, analyze issues, and ensure quality delivery • Support UI automation initiatives using Playwright as a secondary focus • Leverage GitHub Co-pilot for efficient test development Nice to Have • Experience with UI automation frameworks • Knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies • Exposure to cloud platforms Azure, AWS • Basic scripting and debugging skills Expected Outcomes • Strong validation of backend systems and APIs • Reliable CI/CD-driven testing pipelines • Improved data integrity and event validation • High-quality releases with reduced defects
