SDET – Playwright Automation Engineer

Position: SDET – Playwright Automation Engineer Location: Montreal, Canada Job Description We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong expertise in Playwright automation testing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks, validating web applications, and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Playwright. • Create and execute automated test scripts for web applications. • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA teams to understand requirements and develop comprehensive test strategies. • Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing. • Identify, document, track, and verify software defects. • Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing. • Analyze test results and provide detailed reports with actionable insights. • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. • Ensure software quality through automation best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills • Experience in Software Testing/Quality Engineering. • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright automation. • Strong programming skills in TypeScript or JavaScript. • Experience with test automation frameworks and design patterns. • Hands-on experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools. • Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps. • Experience with version control systems such as Git. • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies. • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with performance or security testing. • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. • Experience working in Banking or Financial Services environments is a plus. • Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber is an advantage.
