Our client is a pioneering geothermal energy development company seeking an experienced Geothermal Energy Project Manager to oversee projects in and around Winnipeg, Manitoba, CA . This is a critical on-site role requiring robust project management expertise within the energy sector. The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of geothermal energy projects, from initial feasibility studies and site assessment to drilling, construction, and commissioning. You will manage budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within financial constraints. Key responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, coordinating with engineering teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies, and managing risk effectively. Strong leadership skills are essential to guide multidisciplinary teams and foster a collaborative work environment. Experience with subsurface exploration, well drilling operations, and power plant construction, particularly in the context of geothermal resources, is highly desirable. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations, environmental standards, and permitting requirements. The ideal candidate will possess excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale energy projects. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum) or a related technical field is required. A P.Eng designation or equivalent professional certification is a strong asset. A minimum of 8 years of project management experience in the energy industry, with at least 3-5 years specifically focused on geothermal projects, is essential. Familiarity with Manitoba's regulatory environment and geological conditions would be advantageous. Strong understanding of project management methodologies, contract negotiation, and construction management practices is mandatory. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively liaise with internal teams, external partners, and community stakeholders.
