Senior Operations Manager
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Operations Manager to oversee and optimize our supply chain, warehouse distribution, and logistics operations. This leadership role requires a comprehensive understanding of procurement, transportation management systems, process improvement, and warehouse management systems. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence across multiple departments, including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, materials management, and e-commerce logistics. This position offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Duties
• Develop and execute strategic plans for warehouse distribution, procurement, and supply chain operations to meet organizational goals.
• Oversee purchasing activities, sourcing initiatives, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective procurement of materials.
• Manage transportation logistics using transportation management systems (TMS) and coordinate freight, 3PL providers, and shipping & receiving processes.
• Lead process improvement projects utilizing data analysis skills and tools such as ERP systems, AS400, CMMS, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Monitor demand planning, pricing strategies, and order fulfillment processes to optimize inventory levels and reduce lead times.
• Supervise warehouse operations including order picking, packaging, forklift usage, materials management, and shipping schedules.
• Implement best practices in materials sourcing and procurement to support e-commerce fulfillment and overall supply chain efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a safe working environment across all operational areas.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows using ERP systems and other digital tools.
• Analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and develop actionable solutions for continuous improvement.
Requirements
• Proven experience in warehouse distribution, supply chain management, procurement, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms (including AS400), CMMS, and transportation management systems.
• Demonstrated ability in process improvement methodologies and data analysis skills.
• Experience managing freight logistics, 3PL providers, shipping & receiving operations, and demand planning.
• Familiarity with sourcing strategies, pricing negotiations, materials management, order picking, packaging, and shipping procedures.
• Proficiency with forklift operation certification preferred.
• Background in e-commerce logistics or related industries is advantageous.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and process documentation.
• Ability to analyze complex data sets for decision-making purposes.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field is preferred; relevant work experience will also be considered.
