The Role
The Vice President, Finance will lead the day-to-day finance function, overseeing financial reporting, accounting operations, team leadership, and operational finance across the organization.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone who enjoys building structure, improving processes, developing teams, and partnering cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. The role also offers long-term growth into a broader strategic finance leadership position.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Reporting
• Lead month-end close, financial reporting, accounting operations, and inventory costing
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial reporting
• Deliver management reporting, KPI tracking, and variance analysis
• Maintain strong financial controls and scalable finance processes
Leadership & Business Partnership
• Lead and develop the finance team
• Partner with operations, sales, purchasing, and warehousing to support business performance
• Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
• Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and margin enhancement
Process Improvement & Cash Flow
• Drive process improvements, automation, and ERP optimization initiatives
• Improve visibility into working capital and cash flow performance
• Support inventory, receivables, and payables optimization
First 12 Months – Key Expectations
• Fully assume ownership of all internal finance functions.
• Establish a high-performing and clearly structured finance team.
• Improve reporting quality, visibility, and insight.
• Identify and begin implementing key process improvements.
• Build strong cross-functional partnerships across the business.
Qualifications
• CPA designation required
• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles.
• Strong background in controllership and operational finance.
• Experience in distribution, retail, or product-based environments preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems (Syspro experience is an asset).
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive process improvements.
