Mega Electric Supply Inc. is a fast-growing electrical distributor serving contractors, distributors, and project customers across Canada. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented accounting professional to join our team and support our continued growth.
Responsibilities
• Perform daily bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Prepare and file GST returns accurately and on time.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing.
• Maintain the general ledger and journal entries.
• Work with external accountants during year-end and tax preparation.
• Assist with payroll and other accounting duties when required.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and company policies.
Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Experience preparing financial statements.
• Experience preparing and filing GST returns.
• Strong bookkeeping and full-cycle accounting experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Epicor Prophet 21 is an asset.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently while supporting a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and collections
• Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
• Perform account reconciliations and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
• Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries for management review
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions
• Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and company policies
Experience
• Proven experience as an accountant or bookkeeper, with a strong background in full-charge bookkeeping
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms
• Knowledge of payroll processing and related tax regulations
• Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliation processes
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and budgeting tasks
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
• Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment is preferred but not required

Pay: $23.00-$50.00 per hour
