Job description: Illuma Family Law is looking to add a Legal Administrative Assistant to their office in the heart of downtown Vancouver! If you have 1 year of experience in a law firm or are a fresh graduate who is looking to pursue your career in law, this is a great opportunity for you! ABOUT THE ROLE This is a full time, permanent position, Monday-Friday, 9 am - 5 pm. Potential to work from home 1 day per week. Legal Administrative Assistant Duties: • Assisting clients with requesting approval for benefits • Requesting records • Payment of records • Scheduling • Tracking trial deadlines • Opening/Closing Files • Preparing List of Special Expenses • Settlement Docs: Disbursement Lists, Final Accounting Documents, Trust Statements • Preparing List of Documents and other Pleadings • Document discovery, following-up with clients and opposing parties for documents • Trial preparation • Drafting agreements: separation agreements, cohab agreements, marriage agreements • Desk Order Divorces • LTSA searches • Other administrative duties assigned Office Administration: • Greeting and directing clients, and guests • Answering and forwarding phone calls • Managing company mail and courier correspondence • Creating and implementing new office procedures and programs • Other administrative duties assigned COMPENSATION • $40,000 per year • Medical and dental health benefits • Wellness Plan • 2 weeks PTO • Lots of learning opportunities!
