About this role

• FISPAN is seeking a high-impact, operationally disciplined Manager, Human Resources (14-Month Maternity Leave Coverage) to steward and lead our people function • This role is designed for an experienced HR leader who can maintain regulatory compliance, drive operational efficiency across our systems, and act as a trusted advisor to our teams and leadership during a phase of steady growth • Strategic Leadership (30%) • Operational Efficiency: Fully own the daily administration of our core HR systems (BambooHR and Lattice), ensuring seamless employee lifecycles and accurate data integrity • Stewardship: Maintain, calibrate, and execute FISPAN’s approved compensation, and performance review programs in close alignment with the VP of Finance • Fiscal Discipline: Manage HR department-specific spend and provide accurate reporting on people data (turnover, churn, DEI) to flag trends that impact company liability • Growth Planning: Proactively identify gaps or misalignments in the annual people planning process to support global expansion • People Operations & Enablement (55%) • Operational Efficiency: Drive efficiencies across HRIS/ATS platforms (Lattice, BambooHR) and oversee benefits administration and performance review cycles • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure total legal and regulatory compliance across Canada, the US, and other international jurisdictions • Management Training: In conjunction with external consultants and internal departmental leaders, implement and oversee development programs for company managers focused on communication and effective leadership • Culture Champion: Foster an inclusive, supportive workplace by embedding FISPAN’s core values into all programs and day-to-day operations • Talent & Team Direction (15%) • Workforce Planning: Strategic partnership with all teams to identify resource needs and skill gaps • Leadership: Oversee the hiring, development, and management of the HR department staff, ensuring departmental goals align with company OKRs • Duration: Approximately 12 months plus 2 months of overlap Benefits - 4-Week Vacation • Health & Wellness Coverage • 100% Parental Leave Top-Up • Downtown Vancouver Offices & Amenities including fitness centre • Daily Coffee Runs & Weekly Team Lunches • MacBook / Apple equipment- Jurisdictional Knowledge: Expert-level understanding of employment law in both Canada and the US • Sector Background: Experience working within venture-backed companies and navigating international expansion • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field • Must have hands-on, administrative fluency with BambooHR and Lattice • Strong oral and written communication skills with a high attention to detail • Exceptional leadership and decision-making skills • Experience: At least 6 years of HR experience, including HR leadership and management experience • Ability to foster teamwork and meet strict deadlines in a high-growth environment • Financial Acumen: Ability to speak the language of business metrics- Start Date: July 1, 2026
