Settlement Analyst – Trading Finance
📍 Calgary, AB (Hybrid)
💼 6-Month Contract (Strong potential to convert to permanent)
💰 $35–$40/hour

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Settlement Analyst to support a growing energy trading function. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and cash flow related to trading activities across power, natural gas, and environmental markets. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally and contribute to ongoing process improvements in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

What You’ll Do
• Support month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and invoicing/payment activities
• Reconcile trading transactions and analyze financial results
• Coordinate data between counterparties, ISOs, and internal teams (Finance, Trading, Risk, IT, Legal)
• Work with ETRM and financial systems to execute daily/monthly activities
• Contribute to process improvements and new business initiatives
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls (e.g., SOX)
• Maintain accurate documentation and respond to stakeholder inquiries
What You Bring
• Degree or diploma in Accounting, Business, or related field (CPA/CFA in progress is an asset)
• 3–5 years of settlements or accounting experience (energy trading experience preferred)
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets
• Experience with systems like Allegro, TriplePoint, SAP, or Oracle is an asset
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Working Conditions
• Hybrid work model (Calgary-based)
• Occasional overtime during peak periods
