About the position
As a member of the Enterprise Communications team within Global Corporate Affairs (GCA), the Manager, Enterprise Communications, will play a leading role in managing enterprise-wide communications initiatives, with a focus on leadership engagement. This includes project management, supporting planning efforts, and executing engagement strategies for Scotiabank’s senior executive team. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and project manager with experience supporting executive communications and high-profile business initiatives. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Communications.
Responsibilities
• Manage the planning and execution of senior leadership summits, town halls, strategy sessions, video series, and events, in collaboration with partners
• Support the planning and logistical execution of key internal events, including agenda development, participant briefings and day-of coordination
• Produce high-quality visual assets, including banners, slide decks, and infographics, to support communications, events, and business initiatives
• Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to further the Bank’s communications objectives
• Maintain a strong understanding of emerging trends and issues to deliver relevant, insight-driven and timely engagement activities
• Track and monitor existing leadership engagement initiatives, while brainstorming opportunities for new ones
Requirements
• Superior written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Superior organizational and project management skills, with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and work independently
• Event planning experience
• Skilled in the use of various technology tools, including Microsoft Suite (SharePoint, PPT, MS Word, Excel, Teams), O365, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Proven ability to build and maintain trusted business relationships with senior-level leaders and executives
• Comfort working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment, with an ability to remain calm under pressure
• Minimum of five (5) years work experience in a corporate communications or marketing communications role in a complex, dynamic, knowledge-based environment
• Post-secondary degree in communications, journalism or equivalent experience
