About the position
Davidson & Company is searching for a Senior Accountant to join their Tax + Private Enterprise practice. This role is key in delivering high-quality compilations, reviews, compliance, and tax planning services. The Senior Accountant will work closely with managers and partners, contributing to their accounting and tax career growth.
Responsibilities
• Prepare compilations and reviews ensuring accuracy and compliance for privately held companies in a wide variety of industries.
• Prepare corporate tax returns.
• Manage closing processes, including reconciliations and adjustments.
• Helping team members and provide guidance to junior staff on related tasks.
• Develop engagement work plans, including budgets and schedules. Monitor project status against the work plan and communicate schedule adjustments to the Engagement Manager or Partner.
• Develop a professional relationship with the client. Gain the respect and confidence of the client by consistently demonstrating supreme customer service, quality work products, and professional integrity.
Requirements
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, plus a CPA designation (or CFE completion with active progress toward designation)
• 3+ years of relevant experience in public accounting
• Knowledge of ASPE, CAS, and Canadian legislation
• Proficient in financial analysis and interpreting complex financial statements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Familiarity with Caseware
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
