About this role

Who we are Accident Support Services International (ASSI) is the official collision reporting centre partner for Police Services across Canada. Since 1994, we have been providing professional collision management services in collaboration with Police, insurance companies, and private enterprise. The Opportunity We are seeking a reliable, professional, and customer‑focused Bi-Lingual Part-Time Customer Service Representative to join our team. This position primarily supports the Ottawa East Collision Reporting Centre location, at 343 St. Joseph Blvd. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working approximately 20 hours per week, with shifts falling between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. However, candidates must be flexible and able to pick up additional shifts as needed. In this role, you will assist individuals involved in motor vehicle collisions by preparing collision reports, photographing damaged vehicles, and guiding drivers through initial insurance reporting steps. The successful candidate is someone who thrives in a fast‑paced setting, enjoys interacting with the public, and can provide calm, compassionate service to individuals experiencing stressful situations. As a Customer Service Representative, your main duties and responsibilities include: • Greet visitors, determine their needs, and direct them accordingly • Respond to telephone inquiries and forward callers as required • Explain driver responsibilities for reporting motor vehicle collisions to Police and insurance companies • Verify required documents (driver’s licence, ownership, insurance) • Interview drivers to collect details about the collision • Enter accurate information using customized software to prepare collision reports for Police, Insurance, and the Ministry of Transportation • Retrieve and file reports as needed • Photograph vehicle damage and upload images to the report • Scan documents into digital filing systems • Assist drivers in the first steps of reporting to their insurance company • Perform other duties as assigned You would be a great fit if you have the following (minimum requirements): • Must have reliable transportation to and from work • Are bilingual (French speaking) is considered an asset • A strong understanding of the rules of the road and a valid driver’s licence • Must have fully open availability with no restrictions, • One to two (1-2) years of experience in an customer service or retail position; previous experience with data entry is an asset • Able to undergo and pass additional background testing; complete criminal background check • Excellent keyboarding and customer service skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • High attention to detail and accuracy • Basic computer proficiency • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Capacity to manage shifting priorities in a fast‑paced, sometimes high‑pressure environment • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to support individuals involved in stressful collision situations Working Conditions • Able to work on a computer for long periods of time • Required to work in a busy, open area office which may result in constant interruptions • May be required to stand for extended periods of time during shifts • Required to photograph damaged vehicles outdoors, in all weather conditions • Required attention to detail and high level of data accuracy Job Types: Part-time, Permanent Pay: $18.50 per hour Education: • Secondary School (required) Experience: • Customer service: 1 year (required) Language: • French (required) Licence/Certification: • Driving Licence (required) Work Location: In person
