Hiring: Senior Business Analyst – SQL, Databricks & AI
Location: Ottawa, Canada (Hybrid)
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with strong expertise in SQL, Databricks, and Reference Data Management to support a large-scale enterprise data transformation initiative. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business and technology teams, translating complex data logic into actionable business requirements while leveraging AI-enabled tools where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary liaison between the MCDB (SQL) and DEAL (Databricks) teams.
• Analyze complex SQL code to understand business logic and document functional and technical requirements.
• Utilize AI/GenAI tools, where applicable, to accelerate requirement analysis and documentation.
• Partner with Reference Data architects, technical leads, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Drive collaboration across cross-functional teams and support the adoption of modern data technologies.
• Ensure business requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions.
Required Skills
• Strong experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise data or analytics projects.
• Advanced SQL skills with the ability to analyze and interpret complex SQL queries.
• Good understanding of the Databricks ecosystem and modern data platforms.
• Experience with Reference Data concepts, governance, and data management.
• Exposure to AI/GenAI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar) for requirement analysis or documentation is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
