They are seeking a strategic and collaborative Head of Finance & Operations to join their senior leadership team.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of School, the Head of Finance & Operations is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing the school’s financial strategy and core operational functions, including finance, human resources, IT, and facilities.
This role offers a balance of hands-on financial leadership and forward-looking strategic planning, with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a close-knit and engaged school community.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
• Act as a trusted advisor to the Head of School and Board on financial sustainability and long-term planning
• Lead multi-year financial strategy, capital planning, and operational priorities
• Align financial and operational execution with institutional goals
Financial Management
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting
• Lead the annual audit process and maintain strong financial controls
• Support tuition modelling, enrolment planning, and alternative revenue strategies
Operations Oversight
• Provide leadership across IT, HR, and facilities functions
• Oversee payroll, benefits, compliance, and risk management
• Lead facilities planning and capital projects
People Leadership
• Mentor and develop a small, high-performing finance and operations team
• Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture across the organization
Skills & Qualifications
• Senior leadership experience in finance and/or operations, ideally in a not-for-profit or mission-driven environment
• CPA designation (required)
• Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, audits, and long-term planning
• Experience overseeing multiple operational functions in a lean environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leaders and Boards
• A collaborative, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented mindset
