The Contract Developer will collaborate with product owners, designers, and other engineers to implement, test, and maintain software features according to project requirements and timelines. Day-to-day tasks include writing clean, maintainable code, reviewing code from peers, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing application performance. The role also involves participating in technical discussions, refining requirements, and ensuring that deliverables meet quality standards and security best practices. The contractor is expected to manage their workload effectively, communicate progress and risks, and support deployment and post-release monitoring as needed. Qualifications • Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language and familiarity with common frameworks and libraries. • Experience with software development lifecycle practices, including version control, testing, debugging, and documentation. • Ability to work on-site in Vancouver, BC and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. • Understanding of web or application architecture, APIs, and integration with third-party services. • Relevant experience as a software developer, contract engineer, or similar technical role. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience (formal education or comparable experience considered). • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a project-based environment. • Comfort with learning new tools and technologies and adapting to changing project needs.
