About this role
WHAT IF WORK COULD BE YOUR HAPPY PLACE?
We're looking for self-directed, smart and passionate people to help us bring solutions to Canadian communities. A company you can call home welcomes you to be yourself from the start and gets you contributing in your best way possible. What are you passionate about?
ATTENTION, ACCOMPLISHED LEADERS!
We're on a critical mission to deliver robust telecom connectivity across Nunavut and Northern Quebec, and we're looking for a proven leader to take the helm of our Network & Field Operations team.
This is a leadership role first. You'll provide strategic oversight of our Network Operations Centre (NOC) and field operations teams, keeping communities connected across some of Canada's most challenging regions. You don't need to be the most technical person in the room; you'll have engineers and specialists to lean on. What you do need is the drive to lead, the curiosity to learn, and the willingness to roll up your sleeves and figure things out alongside your team. On-site duty in Kanata is required to build team unity and drive operational excellence.
YOUR MISSION OBJECTIVES
• Provide strategic leadership for field operations and 24/7 NOC operations, ensuring reliability, fault management, and service restoration.
• Lead and develop a team of field and NOC technicians, fostering collaboration and operational excellence.
• Set performance standards, recognize excellence, and address gaps.
• Guide critical decisions, support your team through troubleshooting, and drive strategic solutions.
• Build training programs and champion automation to strengthen team efficiency and readiness.
• Use reporting and insight to anticipate and prevent service disruptions in demanding environments.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• A proven leader who brings out the best in a team, especially under pressure.
• Strong character: a sense of urgency, accountability, and genuine ownership.
• A customer-first mindset and the ability to keep a team focused on what matters most.
• Someone who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty, figure things out, and learn fast.
• Experience leading remote or geographically dispersed teams, building trust across distance.
• Sound decision-making under pressure: calm assessment, clear action.
• Comfortable working on-site in Ottawa (Kanata) in a fast-paced, evolving environment. On-site role; no remote assignments.
CONSIDERED AN ASSET
• Experience in telecommunications or network operations (e.g., fault management, surveillance, configuration).
• A background managing engineers, technicians, or other technical teams.
Don't have deep telecom experience? That's okay. If you're a strong leader who learns quickly, our engineering team has the technical depth to support you.
