About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled Automotive Electrical Technician (Auto Electrician) to join a busy and growing automotive service facility in Mississauga. This position is ideal for an experienced technician with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities who enjoys working with advanced vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
The successful candidate will diagnose, repair, install, and maintain electrical components and electronic systems on a variety of domestic and import vehicles while ensuring repairs are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Diagnose electrical and electronic faults using OEM diagnostic software, scan tools, multimeters, and other testing equipment.
• Repair and replace damaged wiring harnesses, connectors, relays, switches, and electrical circuits.
• Diagnose and repair charging and starting systems, including batteries, alternators, and starter motors.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair vehicle lighting systems, including headlights, taillights, interior lighting, and signal lamps.
• Diagnose and repair power windows, power door locks, mirrors, power seats, and other electronic accessories.
• Install aftermarket accessories such as remote starters, backup cameras, dash cameras, GPS tracking systems, vehicle security systems, and audio equipment.
• Diagnose CAN Bus communication faults and resolve network-related electrical issues.
• Repair HVAC electrical controls and climate control system components.
• Program and configure electronic control modules using manufacturer diagnostic software when required.
• Perform electrical testing, clear diagnostic trouble codes, and verify repairs through functional testing.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and manufacturer service manuals.
• Complete repair orders accurately and communicate findings with the Service Advisor.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
• Previous experience as an Automotive Electrical Technician or Auto Electrician.
• Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and electronic diagnostics.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Experience using scan tools, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, battery testers, and OEM diagnostic equipment.
• Knowledge of charging systems, starting systems, sensors, actuators, and CAN Bus communication.
• Familiarity with hybrid and electric vehicle high-voltage safety is considered an asset.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills and experience using diagnostic software.
• Valid Ontario G Driver's Licence preferred.
• Own tools are considered an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
