About the Role Our client, a significant producer in the Oil & Gas industry, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Upstream Operations Manager to lead their field operations in the Markham, Ontario, CA region. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of upstream exploration and production activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations. You will manage a team of professionals, optimize production strategies, control costs, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in petroleum engineering and operations management, with a proven track record of success in optimizing production, managing field teams, and driving operational excellence. This is a key position that offers substantial responsibility and the opportunity to shape the future of our client's upstream ventures. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and direction for all upstream oil and gas field operations. Develop and implement strategic operational plans to maximize production and minimize costs. Ensure all operations comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Manage the operational budget, including capital and operating expenditures. Oversee drilling, completions, and production activities. Lead and mentor field operations staff, including engineers, supervisors, and field technicians. Implement best practices in asset integrity, maintenance, and reliability. Liaise with other departments, including exploration, reservoir engineering, and commercial teams. Monitor operational performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. A Master's degree or MBA is a plus. Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in upstream oil and gas operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role. Extensive knowledge of field operations, including drilling, completions, production, and facility operations. Strong understanding of reservoir management principles and production optimization techniques. Proven leadership and team management skills. Excellent financial acumen and experience managing operational budgets. Strong understanding of HSE regulations and best practices in the Oil & Gas industry. Ability to work on-site in Markham, Ontario, CA .
