Job Title: Platform Engineer
Client: Fintech trading
Salary: $180,000 + Bonuses & Benefits
Location: Montreal
I'm partnering with a leading systematic trading and technology firm that builds cutting edge infrastructure powering high performance, data intensive research and trading platforms.
Leveraging technologies such as high performance computing (HPC), AI/ML, GPU compute, and large scale distributed systems, the firm invests heavily in engineering and offers the opportunity to work on some of the most demanding infrastructure challenges in the industry.
What you'll be doing
• Architect and evolve scalable Linux compute platforms.
• Develop automation for provisioning, configuration management and infrastructure lifecycle.
• Build internal tooling and APIs to improve developer productivity.
• Drive observability across metrics, logs and tracing.
• Support large-scale server provisioning and platform operations.
• Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to deliver resilient, high-performance infrastructure.
• Participate in incident response, continuous improvement and mentoring within the team.
What they're looking for
• Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
• Experience with Ansible (or similar configuration management tools).
• Python (Go or Rust also beneficial).
• Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tooling.
• AWS, GCP or Azure experience.
• Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or Datadog.
• Git-based workflows and an automation-first mindset.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, virtualization or hybrid cloud is advantageous.
