Our client, a highly respected Engineering Consulting Firm, is currently seeking a talented and experienced an Electrical Engineer (P.Eng Required) to join their team. The Intermediate Electrical Engineer is a critical function in the firm, where this individual will be leading the Electrical Engineering department and be reporting to the Vice President.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Responsible for distributing projects, allocating resources, planning project timelines, following budgets and milestones, communicating with clients for scheduling, and implementing tracking tools.
• Participate in business development initiatives to continue to grow the Residential Electrical division.
• Collaborate with Team Leads to ensure projects are organized, resources are trained, technical specs meet client requirements, and projects are profitable once finalized.
• Participate in company marketing and sales efforts and will be expected to meet new clients and introduce capabilities and services, particularly with respect to electrical systems restoration.
• Other targets may include project management volume, utilization, timely billings, Accounts Receivables and WIP management (work in progress).
• Supervise and coach Electrical team staff.
• Ensure the proper execution of Electrical projects.
• Review projects with Vice President and distribute resources.
• Share project objectives with team.
• Be responsible for the quality of deliverables, costs, schedules, and project efficiencies
• Provide forecasting reports to plan future project and resource allocations.
• Optimize operational processes and put in place continuous improvement initiatives for projects.
• Provide electrical engineering stamping duties as a registered P.Eng
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario
• Prefer an individual with 8 yrs of experience with extensive electrical design experience in building engineering and facilities such as generators.
• Experience with Electrical load calculations, lighting design and analysis a plus
• Familiarity with OESC,OBC, IEEE, NFPA, and other industry standards and codes
• Experience in designing electrical power and lighting systems
• Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing
• Familiarity with providing guidance and support for others within a department
• Analytical, technical and problem-solving skills and abilities
