About this role

NEO are seeking an experienced Signalling Engineering Lead for a Global Consultancy to provide technical and delivery leadership across major rail infrastructure programmes. This role is ideally suited to an experienced CRE Signalling professional with a strong background in engineering management, multidisciplinary project delivery, technical assurance, and stakeholder engagement within complex operational railway environments. Key Responsibilities • Lead the engineering delivery of signalling projects, acting as CRE Signalling and ensuring compliance with applicable railway standards, technical requirements, and project objectives. • Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary project teams, managing engineering interfaces between signalling, track, power, telecoms, civils, and systems disciplines. • Oversee engineering assurance, risk management, design reviews, constructability assessments, and technical approvals throughout the project lifecycle. • Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory stakeholders, ensuring successful project delivery within programme, budget, and quality targets. • Mentor and develop engineering teams, promoting best practice, technical excellence, and a strong safety-first culture across all project activities. Requirements • Significant experience delivering signalling projects within heavy rail, metro, transit, or railway infrastructure environments. • Proven experience operating as CRE Signalling, CEM, Signalling Project Engineer, or Engineering Manager on major rail programmes. • Knowledge of Network Rail, Metrolinx, TTC, GO Expansion, VIA Rail, CPKC, CN, or comparable rail authority standards and governance frameworks. • Strong understanding of railway signalling systems, engineering assurance, testing & commissioning, safety verification, and systems integration. • Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline with professional registration (PEng, IRSE, IET, ICE, or equivalent) preferred.
