We are currently seeking Mechanical Engineering Technicians to join our team! We are looking for candidates who possess excellent organizational skills, make decisive decisions, pay keen attention to detail, and can work independently or provide technical support. In this role, you will assist a mechanical engineer in all aspects of designing, developing, operating, and maintaining mechanical devices within a food processing plant.
Primary Responsibilities
• Provide support in the preparation of engineering designs, drawings, and specifications using design tools.
• Conduct a variety of mechanical tests and analyses on machines, components, and materials within a defined scope.
• Assist in the design and development of molds, tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and other production equipment used in manufacturing processes.
• Collect and analyze technical data and prepare reports related to equipment performance, maintenance activities, and process improvements.
• Participate in the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and production machinery.
• Inspect mechanical installations and equipment modifications to verify compliance with engineering specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.
• Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, material requirements, maintenance schedules, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, maintenance personnel, production supervisors, and external contractors on equipment upgrades and capital projects.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, occupational health and safety regulations, and preventive maintenance programs.
Requirements of Position
• High School Diploma is a must.
• Completion of a one- or two-year college program in mechanical engineering technology or a related field will be considered an asset.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, machinery maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Good English language skills.
Compensation & Conditions
• $38.50 per hour
• Minimum 30 hours per week
• Overtime may be required and will be paid at 1.5 of your regular hourly rate after 44 hours per week
