Senior Business Analyst – Data, Reporting & Capital Markets Transformation
Location: Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite)
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Potential Extension)
The Client
Our client is a leading financial services organization undergoing a significant business and technology transformation initiative. As part of a large-scale migration program, the organization is modernizing operational processes, reporting capabilities, and stakeholder engagement frameworks to support enhanced efficiency, governance, and client service delivery.
What You Will Achieve in This Role
• Lead stakeholder engagement activities to support the migration of business processes, reporting requirements, and operational workflows to a new target operating model.
• Act as a key liaison between business, operations, technology, testing, and project teams to ensure alignment and successful program delivery.
• Coordinate stakeholder communications, readiness activities, training requirements, and user acceptance testing support throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Manage and maintain project trackers, action logs, stakeholder requirements, risks, issues, and migration progress reporting.
• Support testing activities by coordinating the collection, validation, and quality assurance of sample trade and reporting files.
• Establish and maintain a centralized data repository to support migration planning, stakeholder mapping, reporting requirements, operational dependencies, and governance activities.
• Develop executive dashboards, governance reporting, migration tracking tools, and management information frameworks that provide visibility into program progress, risks, dependencies, and readiness.
• Perform data sourcing, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, transformation, and analysis activities across multiple systems and data sources.
• Identify data quality issues, process gaps, operational risks, and control weaknesses, recommending remediation actions to support successful program execution.
• Design and maintain stakeholder mapping structures to support communication planning, operational readiness, and migration execution.
• Support change control and governance processes by ensuring data updates, reporting changes, and program documentation are reviewed, approved, and maintained appropriately.
• Present management information, reporting insights, and recommendations to senior business and project stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reporting methodologies, governance documentation, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Build and enhance automated reporting solutions using Excel VBA, Power Query, and advanced reporting tools to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
Must-Have Qualifications
• 7+ years of Business Analysis experience within financial services, capital markets, or large-scale transformation environments.
• Proven experience supporting system-to-system migrations, platform migrations, operating model transformations, or large-scale business change initiatives.
• Strong experience working directly with external clients, business stakeholders, and senior leadership teams.
• Experience developing executive dashboards, management information reporting, governance reporting, and program tracking frameworks.
• Advanced data analysis, reconciliation, validation, and reporting experience across multiple systems and data sources.
• Strong experience managing and governing large datasets, stakeholder mappings, and reporting repositories.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VBA, Power Query, reporting automation, and complex data analysis.
• Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), stakeholder readiness activities, training coordination, and migration planning.
• Strong understanding of capital markets operations and trade lifecycle processes.
• Experience working with Exchange Traded Derivatives (ETD) and Over-the-Counter (OTC) derivative products.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and documentation skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively across business, operations, technology, and project teams within complex enterprise environments.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
• Experience working within institutional banking, asset management, custody, or investment management environments.
• Knowledge of enterprise data governance frameworks and centralized data management practices.
• Experience with business intelligence, reporting, and data visualization tools.
• PMP, CBAP, or related professional certification.
• Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
