About this role

About The Opportunity Our client is an innovative aerospace company developing advanced flight and launch technologies. They are seeking a talented 3D CAD Designer / Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and production of highly engineered mechanical systems operating in demanding environments. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge hardware programs within a fast-paced engineering organization where design decisions directly influence product performance and mission success. Key Responsibilities • Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings. • Design complex mechanical and structural components from concept through production. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop innovative technical solutions. • Produce and maintain technical documentation, drawings, BOMs, and revision-controlled design packages. • Support prototype manufacturing, assembly, and testing activities. • Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. • Participate in design reviews and engineering trade studies. • Support continuous improvement of products, processes, and design standards. Required Qualifications • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Design, or related discipline. • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, CAD engineering, or product development. • Advanced proficiency with one or more CAD platforms: • Siemens NX • CATIA • SolidWorks • Creo • Strong understanding of: • GD&T • Mechanical assemblies • Precision manufacturing processes • Machined components • Sheet metal design • Composite structures • Experience generating detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation. • Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience within aerospace, motorsport, automotive performance engineering, defense, advanced manufacturing, robotics, or related industries. • Experience designing lightweight structures or high-performance mechanical systems. • Familiarity with FEA and simulation tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran, or HyperWorks. • Experience working with PLM/PDM systems. • Exposure to rapid product development environments and prototype programs.
