About this role

We are seeking a FT, detail-oriented Finance and Human Resources specialist to manage financial/accounting transactions and human resource functions within our organization. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting and tax principles, payroll and HR policies, ensuring compliance with legal requirements while supporting our company development and grows Key Responsibilities: Financial/Accounting Manage the cash flow on a daily basis, budgeting anf forecast, Manage the accounts payable - track and record expenses, including bills, cash receipts, and credit card expenses, Handle bank deposits and bill payments, Reconcile bank accounts, cash sales and expenses receipts, accounts payable and credit cards, ensuring accuracy, Post transactions in GL, conduct monthly, quarterly and year-end financial tasks, including audits, in collaboration with relevant teams, Calculate and file PST, GST and any other remittances, as required by the Province and by the federal institutions Liason with the bank representatives and other parties, as required by the specifics of this position, Work closely with the Director and the Operation Manager on any financial matters and HR to provide professional input. Perform additional tasks and responsibilities, as required from time to time. HR and Payroll Check the timesheets, process biweekly payroll, calculate the payroll deductions, and make the government remittances, including Payroll Remittance, WCB, BC Employment Tax. Manage the employees' benefits and medical plan. Draft employment contracts and agreements, ensuring clarity and compliance with applicable laws. Manage ROEs and T4s, Coordinate recruitment processes, including job postings, interviews, and training of new hires. Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies to promote a positive workplace environment. Support performance management processes and assist with employee development plans. Address employee relations issues, mediate disputes, and promote a harmonious work culture. Ensure compliance with labor laws and maintain accurate payroll records. Act as a liaison between different departments within the Company to facilitate communication and support. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience in accounting/finance and human resources functions - preferable 10+ years Strong knowledge of payroll/HR policies, Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting standards and tax regulations, Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization, proficiency working in a team, as well as independently with minimum supervision, Strong knowledge of Quickbooks, Excel, Word. Knowledge of the Mindbody software would be an asset This position requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a good knowledge/understanding of the English language. Working Conditions: This position requires a combination of remote work and office presence - while the schedule could be flexibible, we do require hands-on while working remotely, and an office presence of at least 3-4 days per week This is a FT position. Compensation: We offer competitive compensation for the right candidate.
