Our energy and utilities client is seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst (10+ years) to define and manage requirements for AI and automation initiatives using Google Cloud AI and RPA solutions Join a team driving next-generation automation and AI capabilities for a leading energy organization. This role structures complex business rules and translates them into implementation-ready artifacts supporting automation delivery across discovery, documentation, and user acceptance. The position offers high visibility with technical and business leadership in advancing AI-enabled workflows and systems integration within the client’s automation domain. Contract, Calgary or Edmonton, Hybrid, Working Hours: MST Must Haves • 10+ years in technical business analysis within automation or AI-enabled environments • Proficiency with Google Cloud AI platforms including Vertex AI, Gemini, and Document AI • Exposure to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) or AI-assisted solution development • Experience defining functional and non-functional requirements with full traceability • Business Analysis certification (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or ECBA) Nice to Have • Familiarity with AI assistants such as Copilot or related intelligent agent tools • Experience using Google Workspace and embedded AI features for documentation and collaboration • Understanding of requirements taxonomy and data constraint definition within integration environments Responsibilities • Elicit and document automation opportunities and business rules using defined Scenario + Rule standards • Identify and capture required inputs, source systems, data dependencies, and operational constraints • Define comprehensive Non-Functional Requirements covering performance, security, and auditability • Document exception handling logic and manual routing procedures for unresolved scenarios • Collaborate with technical teams to define unstructured data sources for AI model grounding • Track requirement gaps, assumptions, and pending decisions to ensure timely resolution • Maintain traceability from business rules through user stories, acceptance criteria, and UAT evidence • Translate structured business rules into implementation-ready user stories and clear testable criteria • Support technical discovery mapping to specific Google Cloud AI and automation capabilities Disclaimer: AI may be used in evaluating candidates.
